CharlesRecovered, or nearly so. Awake at 3:00 a.m. each morning since return. Nothing to do but get up, fix coffee, review the news, and face the day. That means, of course, taking an hour or so nap some time during the day. The older I get the longer it takes to recover. But getting there. Will try to reflect on the trip over the next few days.

Haven’t had any contact with the India team in the past few days. Could be because of the situation mentioned below.

NEWS FLASH: Last Updated: Sunday, February 17, 2013, 23:53 AP: Rain victims kin to get Rs 2 lakh compensation. The Andhra Pradesh government Monday said it will pay an ex-gratia of Rs two lakh each to the kin of 18 people killed in hailstorm in different districts of the state in the last three days. As many as 17 people have lost their lives in the last two days in rain-related incidents in Andhra Pradesh, with heavy downpour causing extensive damage to crops, officials said on Sunday. Most of the deaths were after being struck by thunderbolts and due to electrocution, they said, adding that crops in 1,47,986 hectares have been damaged due to the heavy rains. According to officials, horticulture crops like mango and chilies were damaged in 1,04,558 hectares. Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, who reviewed the situation here, has directed ministers to supervise relief and rescue operations in the affected districts. Enumeration of the damage was in progress and the Chief Minister would take up an extensive review tomorrow. The rains lashed all three regions of the state with Krishna and neighbouring Guntur receiving the highest 88.8 mm and 66.4 mm rainfall. Farmers were distraught as rains caused damage to standing paddy, maize and bengalgram crops.
